Heavy engineering and reclamation specialists             

Baker & Provan Pty Limited, based in Sydney, is a recognised supplier of high-precision, multi-strand, T bar tooling for the aluminium and magnesium smelting industries.

Their most recent project, for Hatch and Associates, has been for a northern hemisphere magnesium plant. The project was completed on time and in accordance with stringent quality requirements.

This design incorporated the latest technology, based on developments occurring worldwide.

All elements of machining, fabrication, assembly and test were carried out in-house.

Computer-controlled machine tools were used exclusively to manufacture the complex shapes required for this type of tooling.

Established in 1946, Baker & Provan Pty Ltd is a general engineering company specialising in supporting Australian industrial and defence customers. Its services include manufacturing precision mechanical components, process machinery and equipment for large plants, project management and design, equipment assembly, fitting and testing work and specialised welding. Factory area of 4800 square metres is serviced by eight overhead travelling cranes to 32 tonne lift.

Since 1989 the company has also been involved in an active program of import replacement for both commercial and defence customers.
